Managing Director - Ian Webster

Ian is the Managing Director of the company. A former head of Licensing & Building Control with Swale Borough Council Ian has 25 years experience in local
government. A Chartered Surveyor, Planner and acknowledged expert
in Licensing Ian provides a breadth of specialist knowledge for
gaining permission in a number of regimes. Ian is also a Director
of the Institute of Licensing and he has published two books
which are both available for purchase from this web site.
Since 1979 Ian has served with the TA (Royal Engineers) in varying posts from
his current staff HQ role on civil contingency planning to bomb
disposal. He has also continued a life long love for competition
and has represented GB at the World Triathlon Championships in
Edmonton (old duffers class!). In 2003 Ian was awarded a certificate
of commendation from Kent Police and Fire Brigade for services
to Licensing.
Jenny Gallivan MIOL
Jenny is the Licensing Manager heading the Faversham office.
A member of the Institute of Licensing and previous chairman
of the one of the sub committees of the Kent and Medway Licensing
Steering Group, Licensing Manager for Maidstone Borough Council
Jenny has a vast experience in licensing law and administration.
Jenny has delivered presentations on Licensing Law and will
be able to assist you and explain the complexities of the new
law.
Mike Hill MCIEH
Mike is our Licensing Consultant based in Peterborough.
He left local government in 2003 as Head of Environmental Health
at Fenland District Council where one of his key responsibilities
was licensing. Mike started his professional career with the
Royal Navy training as a medic, serving on HMS Tiger, as Naval
Health Inspector in Hong Kong, finally ending his 15 years service
as Fleet Health Inspector in 1978. A key skill he developed with
the armed forces was as a trainer with specialist knowledge of
occupational health and safety.
On leaving the Royal Navy Mike joined South Cambridgeshire District
Council before moving to Fenland where licensing was part of
his environmental health responsibilities. He was the Council’s
lead officer on licensing matters and was instrumental in setting
up the Cambridgeshire Licensing Forum (which included the Police
and Fire Services) to promote consistency in licensing matters
across the County.
An active member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental
Health he has held various offices was a General Councillor representing
the Eastern region for 3 years and remains a member to this day.
